With Mania around the corner the brand has very few main event stars, and another Rollins Vs Owens match would have been just as unwanted. Whilst the booking has been bad I do feel the company is backed into a corner somewhat right now. Each and every week Reigns has come out and destroyed the champion, helping neither Owens’ badly booked run as champion, nor the feud. No-one is particularly excited about seeing Reigns back in the main event, and the build to this match has been underwhelming to say the least. Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns (Universal Championship) Expect Charlotte to take an early lead only for Sasha to valiantly battle back and take the victory in the match’s dying moments. The continued switching off the title is tiresome and Sasha needs a lengthy run with the belt to establish herself heading into Wrestlemania season. Whilst I love Charlotte as champion though, Sasha seriously needs to retain here and draw a line under this feud. Sasha and Charlotte have made history this year and the thought of the two squaring off for 30 minutes this Sunday pleases me no end.

Sasha Banks vs Charlotte (Iron Woman Match) (Women’s Championship) Jericho is so established that he doesn’t need the victory here, and his upcoming feud with Owens is already ready made for him, this is essentially just a distraction for both men. The Architect needs a big win heading into his feud with Triple H, and this is a great opportunity to make him look strong. The match does have a time limit though, and a valiant effort from Zayn, only to lose in the dying seconds could prove entertaining, and also add to his story line of being so close, yet seemingly so far as well as his war of words with Foley continues.Ĭhris Jericho has been on fire this year, and a big PPV win would be much deserved, but I fully expect Rollins to pick up the victory here.

Zayn’s feud with Foley and the Raw authorities will hopefully lead to something bigger in the coming months, but having him go over Strowman here would go against everything the company has done for the former Wyatt Family member in recent months. Sami Zayn will be Braun’s first ever solo opponent on a WWE PPV, and a victory for the big man looks incredibly likely. If WWE has any sense New Day will hold the belts until Mania, giving a huge rub to whoever it is that takes the belts off them (Enzo and Cass?) This match will likely be the usual tag title affair, with Xavier Woods likely getting involved in the finish. Just because The New Day have broken Demoltion’s record, don’t expect them to drop the title only 2 days after doing so. The New Day vs Sheamus and Cesaro (WWE Tag Team Championship) Rich Swann is a hugely charismatic and talented guy and I don’t see him dropping the belt here, if creative have any sense he will be given a solid run with the belt now. These three stars have been the division’s stand outs thus far though and I think they could really put on a performance this Sunday. The problem with the division is not the quality of the performers, but rather the lack of interesting story telling, with the majority of matches just seemingly being thrown together to fill time. Sure, the ‘comedy’ in the build up has been appalling, but from a narrative point of view the idea of Cass defending his weaker friend against the big bully has worked quite nicely and has been a nice way to keep the two big guys occupied.īrian Kendrick vs Rich Swann vs TJ Perkins (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)ĭespite WWE’s efforts the Cruiserweight division just hasn’t taken off on Monday Night Raw, and the rumoured low attendances for 205 live only reinforce that. Whilst many would disagree I have actually enjoyed this feud. This is actually the toughest match to call on the night, but personally I think it should go to the Bulgarian Brute. Here’s my look at the card, and who I think will win each encounter…

That being said, the show has some fairly solid matches on it and should provide a good few hours entertainment one week before Christmas. The show feels incredibly rushed and there is very little hype surrounding the event. December PPV’s often suffer from everyone turning their attention to the Royal Rumble and Raw’s last event of the year has suffered from the same issues.
